The Review:-
Spice and Wolf Season 2 was okay—just not as strong for me as the first season. While I did enjoy the events that took place, I found myself preferring the original season overall.
This season places more emphasis on the developing romance between Holo and Lawrence, and while it’s not necessarily a bad thing, I personally liked the dynamic in Season 1, where the focus was more on their adventures and business dealings than romantic banter.
That said, the story was still well-written, and I appreciated the growth in both characters. The way their relationship evolved was handled with care, and there were moments where I really thought Holo might walk away or Lawrence might give up. But Lawrence stayed committed to his word, and Holo continuously proved she had his best interests at heart.
One thing I didn’t love was the opening theme. Maybe it’s just because I’m partial to Season 1’s opener, which really stuck with me more.
Overall, I enjoyed Season 2 to a certain extent—especially seeing how Holo and Lawrence supported each other, both in business and emotionally. It has been rated an 8/10, but for me personally, I’d give it a 7/10.
