Synopsis:-
Hirasawa Yui is described as a young carefree girl who is now entering high school. Upon walking down the corridor, her attention is captured when she sees a poster entitled 'The Light Music Club', and being the personality that she is, she decides to go and sign up, even though it turns out that she can not play an instrument!
When she shows up at the clubroom, she meets the other members, Ritsu, Mio, and Tsumugi.
They are saddened to hear that Yui can not play an instrument at all, but they try to persuade her to stay so that the group would not be disbanded. They succeed in doing this by playing a small piece for Yui to hear, and that inspires her to stay in the club as their newest guitarist.
Yui begins to juggle her school activities along with teaching herself to play the guitar with the help of her fellow band members. There are some mishaps along the way but they are able to get past those mishaps.
However, their biggest project is to perfect the piece they decide to play for the school festival, and as time continues to tick the band members wonder if the Light Music Club will really be ready in time for their big debut.
The Review:-
To start off, in the anime "K-On," Hirasawa Yui has been portrayed as pretty lazy, but when you actually think about it, aren't we all a little bit like Yui sometimes?
When I ponder it, Yui is actually a pretty average girl! Her only real problem is her grades!
This anime, once watched, is one that would forever remain memorable for me. Not because it was absolutely spectacular—it does have a lot of fillers. However, I think fillers are what help this anime thrive and what makes it a good watch!
The music is catchy, and though by popular belief, a lot of people would rather have Mio on the mic, I think that both Mio and Yui are really good singers. Though my favorite song in the anime, and probably everyone else's, would have to be "Don't Say Lazy." Mio has lead vocals on that song too, so that could be the reason why she is most liked.
The art in this anime makes everything feel really cute and silly, and I think it is a great break from all the other hardcore anime out there.
Another plus is all the personalities we have going on!
We know that Yui is considered to be the lazy one who can be very awkward sometimes. There is also Mio, who is a bit shy and reserved. Ritsu is always upbeat and loves to do pranks, especially if Mio is involved, and Tsumugi seems to just enjoy spending time with them and enjoying life. She also appears to be the 'rich kid' in this anime, but you don't get very heavy vibes about that because she treats everyone as her equal. Later on, Azusa joins the club, and she is very serious and easily distracted.
Though they are all very different, they share their love for music, and I think that is the most beautiful thing about this anime. They have a very special bond, and they look out for each other to make sure that no one gets left behind.
"K-On" surely will not be for everyone because everyone has their own preferences, but if you need a break or a silly, cute comedy is your forte, I highly recommend you check it out! This anime has been rated an 8 out of 10, according to yours truly here at Anime Frenzzzy!!!
